AuzSkin Aesthetic & Skin Cancer Clinic is a medical skin clinic with four Queensland locations: Hope Island and Chevron Island on the Gold Coast, Paddington in Brisbane, and Regents Park in Logan. We provide skin cancer checks and skin cancer management alongside medical aesthetic and skin health services. Services differ between clinics, so the list for each location is set out below. Our approach is the same at every site: careful assessment, clear information, and treatment plans that suit your individual circumstances.
AuzSkin was established on the Gold Coast to bring skin cancer medicine and medical aesthetics together in one practice. Skin health rarely sits neatly in one category. A patient who comes in for a skin check may also want to discuss sun damage or pigmentation. A patient booking a cosmetic consultation may have a spot they have been meaning to have looked at. Having both areas of care in one practice means those conversations can happen in the same appointment, and any concern can be directed to the appropriate clinician. Every consultation begins with an assessment and a discussion of the options available, so you can make an informed decision about your care.
Skin checks, mole assessment and mole mapping, and the management of skin cancers and pre-cancerous lesions where clinically appropriate. This includes non-surgical options and surgical procedures, most of which are performed in our rooms under local anaesthetic. Skin cancer appointments are available across our Queensland clinics.
Cosmetic consultations, skin rejuvenation and laser treatments, body contouring, and wellness and skincare support. All treatments follow a consultation and assessment, and are recommended only where they are considered suitable for you. Skin cancer assessments and procedures at AuzSkin are carried out by Dr Zeeshan Ahmed, a registered medical practitioner with a Diploma in Skin Cancer and a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, and a background in plastic surgery. He has practised in Australia, New Zealand and Dubai, and has a particular clinical interest in skin cancer detection and management.
Dr Ahmed works alongside our registered nurses, dermal and skin therapists, and administrative team. Every clinician involved in patient care holds current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency where their role requires it. Every skin cancer assessment and procedure is performed by a registered medical practitioner. Cosmetic and skin treatments follow a consultation and assessment before anything is recommended.
Clinics on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane and in Logan, so you can choose the site that suits your travel and your schedule.
You do not need to move between providers to have a spot assessed and to discuss skin health or cosmetic concerns.
The medical devices we use are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and are used in line with manufacturer guidance and relevant clinical standards.
Most skin cancer procedures, including biopsies and excisions, are carried out in our treatment rooms under local anaesthetic, subject to clinical assessment.
Medicare rebates may be available for some services. Eligibility depends on your individual circumstances and the service provided.
Your first appointment begins with a conversation. We ask about your medical history, your sun exposure, any family history of skin cancer, and what has brought you in. For a skin check, this is followed by a clinical examination of the skin, using a dermatoscope to look closely at any areas of concern. For a cosmetic or skin health consultation, we assess your skin and discuss what options may be suitable.
You will be told what has been found, what it may mean, and what the options are, including the option of monitoring rather than acting immediately. If further assessment or treatment is recommended, we explain what is involved, what to expect, and any associated costs before anything proceeds. No treatment goes ahead without your understanding and consent.
We hold ourselves to the standards expected of registered health practitioners in Australia. That means clinicians practising within their scope, current AHPRA registration, hygiene and infection control protocols in all clinical areas, honest information about what a treatment can and cannot do, and enough time and information for you to decide without pressure. If a concern falls outside what we can appropriately manage, we will tell you and arrange an onward referral.
