AuzSkin offers laser, light and energy based skin treatments alongside paramedical skin therapies, at our clinics on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane and in Logan.
These treatments are used to address concerns such as sun damage, pigmentation, redness, uneven texture, acne scarring, fine lines and loss of firmness. Which treatment is appropriate, if any, depends on your skin, your medical history and what you are trying to address. That is determined at a consultation, not before it. Results vary between individuals, and no outcome can be promised.
Availability of specific devices varies between our clinics. If you are interested in a particular treatment, please check with us when you book.
Paramedical skin treatments designed to exfoliate and support skin function. Often considered for congestion, dullness and general skin conditioning.
Broadband light therapy designed to target pigmentation, redness and sun damage, with the aim of improving overall evenness of skin tone.
Non-ablative laser resurfacing designed to work below the skin surface. Often considered for acne scarring, fine lines and general skin quality, with less recovery time than ablative options.
Combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in a single treatment, designed to address skin texture and tone. Recovery time is longer than with non-ablative treatments and is discussed with you before you decide.
Ultra short pulses designed to target pigment while limiting heat delivered to surrounding skin. Also used for carbon facial treatments.
Ultrasound energy delivered to deeper layers of the skin, designed to address skin laxity and support collagen remodelling over time.
Thermal mechanical treatment designed to transfer heat energy to the skin surface, with the aim of improving texture and elasticity.
Radiofrequency microneedling designed to support collagen remodelling and skin firmness.
Micro-injections of hyaluronic acid designed to improve skin hydration and quality. As with any injectable treatment, suitability is assessed by a registered practitioner and consent is obtained before treatment.
Not everyone is a suitable candidate for laser and energy based treatment. Your practitioner will assess factors including:
Some people are told that laser treatment is not appropriate for them, or that a different approach would suit them better. That is a normal outcome of an assessment.
All laser, light and energy based treatments carry risk. No treatment is risk free and outcomes vary between individuals. Depending on the treatment, risks and normal after-effects may include: Redness, swelling, warmth or a sunburn like sensation in the treated area Temporary darkening, flaking or peeling of treated pigment Blistering or crusting Changes in skin pigmentation, either lighter or darker than surrounding skin, which may be temporary or in some cases longer lasting Bruising, particularly with microneedling and injectable treatments Reactivation of cold sores in susceptible people Infection Scarring, which is uncommon but possible Risk of pigmentation change is higher in people with naturally deeper skin tones, and in anyone who has had recent sun exposure. This is one of the reasons a practitioner assessment is required before treatment. Your practitioner will explain the specific risks relevant to any treatment discussed with you, how much recovery time to expect, and what to do if you have a concern afterwards.
Queensland's UV levels are high for most of the year, and sun exposure matters both before and after treatment. You will generally be asked to avoid deliberate sun exposure and tanning for a period before treatment, and to protect the treated area afterwards. Your practitioner will give you specific guidance for the treatment you have, including how long to avoid direct sun, what sun protection to use, and when it is safe to return to your usual skincare. Following aftercare instructions has a direct effect on both how your skin recovers and the risk of pigmentation change.
We ask what you have noticed, what you are hoping to change, and about your medical history, medications, skincare and any previous treatments.
Your practitioner assesses your skin and the area of concern, and determines whether any of the treatments we offer are clinically suitable for you.
If something is suitable, we explain what it involves, what the risks are, how much recovery time to expect, how many sessions may be needed, what it will cost, and what a realistic outcome would be. If nothing we offer is suitable, we say so.
You are not asked to commit during the consultation. If you decide to proceed, consent is obtained separately before treatment.
Nothing is recommended without a consultation and a clinical assessment.
Treatment plans are developed and overseen by registered medical practitioners.
The devices we use are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and are used in line with manufacturer guidance and relevant clinical standards.
AuzSkin is a medical skin clinic. A practitioner assessing your skin for a rejuvenation treatment can also raise anything they notice that should be looked at properly.
More than one treatment may be relevant for a given concern. Where that is the case, it is discussed with you rather than assumed.
We provide guidance on aftercare and homecare to support your recovery and your result.
Skin rejuvenation consultations are available at all four AuzSkin clinics. Specific devices are not held at every location, so please check availability when you book.

If you have noticed a spot or a mole that has changed, that should be assessed before any cosmetic or rejuvenation treatment in that area.
Skin rejuvenation describes a group of treatments used to address the appearance and condition of the skin, including sun damage, pigmentation, redness, texture and firmness. At AuzSkin this includes laser, light and energy based devices as well as paramedical skin treatments.
That depends on your skin, your concern and your medical history. Different devices suit different concerns and different skin types, and some people are not suitable candidates for laser treatment at all. A practitioner assessment determines what, if anything, is appropriate.
This varies by treatment and by individual. Some treatments are considered as a course rather than a single session. Your practitioner will discuss expected numbers with you at your consultation, along with the cost.
It depends on the treatment. Non-ablative options generally involve less recovery than ablative or fractional treatments. Expected recovery time is explained to you before you decide anything, so you can plan around it.
Sensation varies by device and by individual. Your practitioner will explain what to expect and what comfort measures are available for the treatment being discussed.
Recent sun exposure or tanning increases the risk of pigmentation change and generally means treatment should be delayed. Your practitioner will advise how long to wait.
Skin rejuvenation consultations are available at our Hope Island and Surfers Paradise clinics, and at our Brisbane and Logan clinics. Device availability varies by location, so please check when booking.
Cosmetic and skin rejuvenation treatments are generally not eligible for a Medicare rebate. Costs are discussed with you at your consultation before you decide anything.
If you would like to discuss sun damage, pigmentation, texture or skin firmness, our team can arrange a consultation at the clinic nearest you.
